Alternative Fuels
Why should I switch to a cleaner fuelled vehicle?

Quite simply because it saves you money and reduces your impact on the environment.

Did you know that a 1.8 litre car travelling 12,000 miles per year would, on average, produce 4.32 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2). It takes approximately 6 trees to absorb this amount of CO2. Harmful emissions of Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx), Particulate Matter (PM) and other pollutants are released from petrol and diesel vehicles, which have an impact on local air quality affecting the elderly, asthmatics and people with respiratory problems.

Did you know section

Did you know that you could purchase a factory fitted dual fuel (LPG and petrol or CNG and petrol) vehicle for minimal additional cost?

Did you know that you could fit an LPG system to any vehicle whilst retaining the original petrol fuel, giving you twice the driving range with two fuel tanks?

Did you know that there are around 14 LPG refuelling stations in operation across Merseyside?

Did you know the Government is encouraging the use of alternative fuels and is offering huge fuel cost savings to individuals and businesses?

Did you know that the Government has made a rolling 3 year commitment to fix fuel duty on all alternative fuels relative to that on Petrol and Diesel. This means that every year we will know the level of duty for the next 3 years. Fuel duty on LPG is currently about 5.2p/litre, whereas fuel duty on petrol is approximately 47p/litre!!!

Did you know that many forms of hybrid vehicle are commercially available on Merseyside, click here for more details. These vehicles are less polluting and have a much larger mpg, in comparison to petrol and diesel vehicles.
